WHAT DO YOU NEED TO CLEANSE YOUR SKIN?

We can make products for daily use at home for gentle cleaning, or for a deeper cleaning one or two times a week, depending on our skin type, our makeup habits, or our exposure to dust or pollution.

Among the products that we can make at home we have:

  • Make-up removers, which can be aqueous lotions based on purifying flower or plant hydrolases
  • Biphasic lotions, composed of floral water and vegetable oils; liniments and cleaning emulsions, somewhat more elaborate; and lightly exfoliating cleansing powders and gels to cleanse more thoroughly.
  • Facial scrubs can be used once or twice a week depending on whether we have combination or oily skin.

1. DRY OATMEAL CLEANER WITH LAVENDER

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp oatmeal or colloidal oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp white or green clay
  • 2 tbsp ground lavender flowers

Elaboration:

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a jar with a sanitized lid and lid so that it will keep for several months until you finish it. You do not need to add preservatives, as the ingredients are dry and will not be easily contaminated.
  2. To use it, put a tablespoon in the palm of your hand, add a tablespoon of water and rub to form a paste. Apply it to the face with circular massages, without pressing. You can use it as a mask by leaving it to act for 5 minutes and rinsing with warm or lukewarm water.
  3. Then pat dry and apply toner and day cream.

Properties and tricks

This cleanser gently soothes and exfoliates. Clay helps eliminate toxins, softens, and purifies. Lavender provides a pleasant scent as well as gently purifying, soothing, and exfoliating. If you have to grind lavender or you have flaked oatmeal and you are grinding it yourself, use a coffee grinder. Store in a dry, dark place.

  • 3 g natural liquid soap without sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS)

Elaboration:

  1. Put all the ingredients in a bottle one by one. Cover and shake.
  2. Apply with a cotton pad with gentle circular massages and from the center of the face towards the hair, to remove makeup. Then rinse off with warm water.
  3. Keep it away from heat and light, and use it within a month.

Properties

This lotion hardly lather (because it does not contain SLS, a foaming detergent that can be irritating and harmful to the skin), but it will gently and naturally cleanse your face. Chamomile provides its decongestant properties. Glycerin is an extraordinary moisturizer.
